How does the Easy Card System (ECS) work?

ECS is not a regular flashcard set — it’s a systematic revision tool that consolidates key vocabulary from Primary 1 to Primary 6 into just 71 cards.
Each card is designed to cover:
•tHigh-frequency words from MOE textbooks (P1–P6)
•tWords tested in the last 7 years of top school prelims and PSLEs
The cards Series’ breakdown:
0️ Common 偏旁部首
1️字 & 构词
2️两字词语 & 词语搭配
3️三字词语 & 用途
4️成语
5️常见连词
The cards are carefully curated according to how questions are tested during exam. Thus, it helps students to
•tRecognise confusing words quickly
•tUnderstand meaning and context
•tApply them confidently in exams

There are also Bonus QR codes link to 73 short teaching videos that break down tricky concepts, encouraging self-directed learning.

What level are the ECS cards suitable for?

The cards are specially designed for Primary 4 to Primary 6 students preparing for exams.
However, advanced P3 HCL learners can also benefit.
All cards are cross-level, because PSLE questions pull from the entire P1–P6 syllabus — not just the current year’s material.

Are the cards grouped by chapter or level?

No. The cards are not sorted by chapters or levels.
That’s because PSLE exam questions consolidate vocabulary across all 6 years, while schools teach vocab chapter-by-chapter — which often leads to students forgetting.
ECS solves this by grouping words in ways that strengthen recognition and exam readiness, regardless of when they were first introduced.
The Number on Each Word Refers to the Level and Chapter.
Example. 骗 indicates 4.5, meaning this word is from Primary 4, Chapter 5.

Are the cards suitable for Higher Chinese (HCL)?

Yes! The cards are suitable for both CL and HCL students.
For CL students, recognition of high-frequency vocab boosts their MCQ scores.
For HCL students, writing ability is important, especially for 语文应用 Part B — so they’ll benefit from the deeper understanding ECS provides.

How are high-frequency words defined?

They are not just copied from MOE’s standard 词语表.
Instead, we selected vocab from:
•tThe past 7 years of top school prelim papers and PSLEs
•tWords that appear often, even if not in the standard textbook lists
This includes words like “神态” which combine known words but aren’t directly listed — exactly the kind of word that trips students up.神 is from Primary 5, Chapter 15 and when students learn度 in Primary 6, Chapter 9, they will be taught态度 .
Exam might test them on 神态 instead. which is not in the list of 词语。

Is this a one-time purchase? Do I get lifetime access?

Yes! It’s a lifetime access package.
Once you get the ECS set, it’s yours to keep — and the video lessons linked via QR codes are also perpetually available.

How do we access the cards and materials?

You will receive:
•tThe physical card set
•tQR codes on each card that link to online video explanations

Who are these cards meant for — students or parents?

Primarily for students to use directly.
However, parents can watch the videos too to understand how to guide their children.
It’s a powerful tool for home revision and parent-child learning.

Do the cards reflect the new syllabus changes?

Yes and no. The exam format has not changed, and ECS remains relevant.
While there ar changes to the textbook starting from Primary 1 in 2023, it does not affect the 2026,2027 PSLE Batch, the exam content still pulls from all 6 years.
So, ECS still prepares students for what truly matters — PSLE-level understanding and performance.

What does the different numbers and colours symbolising in the cards?

Top Right Hand Corner: Card series. Example, 1.5 refers to Series 1 (一个字的词语) and 5 is the 5th card in 1 Series
The Number on Each Word: Refers to the Level and Chapter.
Example. 骗 indicates 4.5, meaning this word is from Primary 4, Chapter 5.
汉语拼音 in Green: means the words are read similarly due to borrowing of sound from one word. In this case, they borrow “扁” -ian
Words in Blue: As above. Students are able to deduce how to read the word because of the “borrowing” of sound. Example 撒 sa- borrow the sound from 散 san.
偏旁部首 in Red: Means that the word is associated the 偏旁。 Example. 编 Is weaving, using rope/string, thus related to 绞丝旁。
